It is revealed that Minister Prasanna Ranatunga has pressured the
Gampaha district MPs not to participate in the cricket match held in
Nuwara Eliya with the participation of the MPs of the Podujana
Peramuna recently.
But the MPs Prasanna Ranaweera, Indika Anuruddha and Upul Rajapaksa
who represent Gampaha District have participated in the cricket match
held in Nuwara Eliya despite the objection of Minister Prasanna
Ranatunga. It is also reported that the leadership of the Puodujana
Peramuna has been informed that three other MPs representing the
Gampaha district cannot come to Nuwara Eliya due to other works.
Minister Prasanna Ranatunga is currently joining the new party being
organized by MP Nimal Lansa, who represents the President’s party.
Although a number of MPs belonging to Podujana Peramuna were
associated with Nimal Lansa, it seems that now they are working
together in Podujana Peramuna again. The members of the Podujana
Peramuna have realized that the United National Party and the
President do not have a popular base for politics in this country.
That is why they have left the new party organized by MP Nimal Lanza
and rejoined the People’s Front.
However, Lanka Dawasa is of the opinion that this country cannot
predict tomorrow’s politics.
