The reason behind this clash is the drafting of about 250 police officers who have been trained in ministerial security without the knowledge of Director General of Police Security Division SSP Jagath Palihakkara.
At the request of the relevant VIP, officers who are well trained in special weapons and fighting techniques in the Police Service are deployed to protect the VIP. However, at the request of no minister, about 250 officers have been sacked from the ministerial security service.
