Transport Ministry Secretary Nihal Somaweera says that the government is expecting to issue a fine of Rs 25,000 for seven traffic offenses next week.
This is simply to direct drivers to legal driving. The Motor Act has been amended to implement this penalty. This penalty is also to be imposed for seven sections of the EPF.
2700 lives were lost in 2015 due to road breaking and improper driving. This is a serious threat to society.
