22 in favour 11 against and 14 abstain. What a sad situation.
The GOTA REGIME and the Rajapaksa government lost the Geneva Vote in the resolution against Sri Lanka.
As Sri Lankans we are not happy with what happened but the vote is a well deserved reply for the fast declining right to life, information, freedom of speech and interference with the JUDICIARY.
The Foreign Ministry press conference held now Dinesh Gunawardena Virtually in a braking voice speaks and say that 22 were in favour whilst 25 were against or they could not win. Sadly this old idiot Minister can’t understand that when you abstain it can be that you are in favour but want keep the relationship going and don’t want to destroy it.
The press conference is totally focused to say that the present Sri Lankan government acted in good faith and wanted to protect the people from all perils foreign and local.
The recent remarks of Sarath Weerasekara on the HIJAB and the GOTA’S threat on the Media changed the status of many countries that wanted the stand with Sri Lanka.
The minister does not know what the resolution can do and still think that Sri Lanka can dictate the terms.
If the GSP+ is withdrawn the ailing and limping economy will be dead in no time.
