It is alarming to note that Police brutality has escalated to the level of harassing its own staff. This situation was surface today when a woman police constable on duty was held by her neck while in uniform by a senior police officer, identified as a Chief Inspector. It is not difficult to understand how women police officers’ situation inside the police stations. Sexual harassment of female Police officers has been the talk of the town for a long time. We the (police free from politics) are taking measures to educate international human rights organizations while demanding the IG Police take immediate measures to investigate this unacceptable incident and bring the perpetrators to justice. We also demand that the victim is to be compensated accordingly.
An urgent inquiry against the police officer who attempted to strangulate a female police constable is required.
