Peramuna requested the President on several occasions to give cabinetminister posts to several senior members of the party but the President has ignored those requests on all occasions.
Therefore there is frustration among the seniors of the Podujana Peramuna regarding the negligence and about the arrogance of the President. As a result if the President takes steps to change theministerial position of Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, who represents the Podujana Peramuna the government will undergo a major shake-up. Although Basil Rajapaksa intervened to resolve the existing crisis, Namal Rajapaksa MP is of the opinion that Mahinda Rajapaksa should be re-appointed to the post of Prime Minister and the post of President
