Former Director General of Bribery Commission Dilrukshi acquitted in<\/p>\n\n\n\n
fake audio tape incident created by Avant Guard chief<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The University of Moratuwa and the Government Analyst Department have<\/p>\n\n\n\n
confirmed, the audio tape of the controversial telephone conversation<\/p>\n\n\n\n
between the former Director General of the Bribery Commission<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dilrukshi Dias Wickramasinghe and the owner of Avant Guard Nisshanka<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commission has decided to acquit Dilrukshi Wickramasinghe, who was<\/p>\n\n\n\n
suspended from work on the basis of this audio clip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the year 2021, during a long investigation conducted by the<\/p>\n\n\n\n
University of Moratuwa and the Government Analyst Department, it was<\/p>\n\n\n\n
revealed that the controversial audio tape was made by distorting the<\/p>\n\n\n\n
entire telephone conversation. In the year 2019, when this audio was<\/p>\n\n\n\n
circulated on social media, the Public Service Commission, which<\/p>\n\n\n\n
started investigating the incident, temporarily suspended Dilrukshi<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dias Wickramasinghe on the 24th of that month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the time of the incident, she was working as the Deputy Additional<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Solicitor General of the Attorney General’s Department. The incident<\/p>\n\n\n\n
was a controversial debated issue in the country. But Dilrukshi Dias<\/p>\n\n\n\n
asked Avant Guard chief to make public the entire audio recording of<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Later it was revealed to the media that it was Vajira Abeywardena who<\/p>\n\n\n\n
first contacted Dilrukshi Dias Wickramasinghe over the phone. He was<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the Minister of Public Administration at the time. It was said that<\/p>\n\n\n\n
this telephone conversation was conducted on the basis of a plot by<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the minister Vajira Abeywardena and the chief of the Avant Guard and<\/p>\n\n\n\n
later they edited and released the audio clip on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is clear that these two wanted to insult and disrespect Dilrukshi<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dias Wickramasinghe, who was doing her duty very honestly as the<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Director General of the Bribery Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
